Description Joachim Eibl 2004-08-23 19:00:24 UTC
Version: 3.3, (KDE 3.3.89) (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

Konqueror has the function "Increase font sizes" meant for people who don't see that well. Typically these people also might have problems with pictures, because the details (pixel-resolution) might be below their eye-resolution. (Often pictures even contain text.) They can of course use KMag but it would be much more comfortable if Konqueror could also enlarge the pictures on the fly.

Since this isn't possible in other browsers, this might even be a reason for people to switch to KDE. (Many elder people don't see that well.)

Of course a compromise between speed and quality must be found, but for people that can't distinguish single pixels a simple and fast scaling algorithm might be enough. For people with fast hardware or hardware-scaling-support they might prefer an option to use a bilinear scaling algorithm.
