Version: 3.3.0 (using KDE 3.3.0, compiled sources) Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-0.13mdk i dont know if it must be done on every kicker applet. but text applet like the macos menubar and such need to have this configurable.
why?
for text applet, let say the put your kicker bar transparent, or with some special color background,... you can't see the text easily. just like the Clock applet, you can give it color style, this would be needed for the Menu applet, and I would also have to add it to my personal small applet, kload. why not making this standard in kicker, so every "text" applet inherit this color settings. i'm not sure if i am clear enough, I can give more details if you want.
I strongly support this wish. In fact with transparent background and version 3.4.90 the names of the tasks in the task list become hardly readable even with transparency mode selected. Same is true for example for the text in the weather applet. Regards
For me, I have a black to orange bg and foretext in front of the black part is black, so only the icon can show me the application. The rest of the bg is black, it could be cool to have a gradient coming from the bg color. Thanks Michel
