Description Eggert Ehmke 2004-08-12 11:43:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

The newest version of digikam released for Gentoo does not show my old photo folders, which are nested subdirectories. Also, it is not possible anymore to create nested directories.

You did not specify the version of digikam. I assume you use 0.6.2, right?

digikam 0.6.* does/did not support nested folders. This feature is already
implemented again in the current development version and will be available
when 0.7 is released.

Thank you for your bug report.
The bug that you reported has been identified and has been fixed in the
latest development (CVS) version of KDE. The bug report will be closed.

If the support for nested directories is resolved by showing a flat list with all the directories in the tree (but without any indication of their relation plus bunches of empty folders for the folders which only contain subfolders) I would like to suggest to reopen this bug. (especially since this is exactly what my 0.72 does.)

If you don't want to present a tree structure, at least give the option to hide lower levels until the parent folder is selected. At this moment digikam turns a carefully organized structure into a flat mess..

You should select the sorting "By Folder" instead of "By Collection"
RTFM.
