Description colesen 2004-07-27 01:01:37 UTC
Version: 3.2.3 (using KDE 3.2.3, SuSE)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.95-default

I was collecting info. from various places on the web about a subject using Konqeuror as remote file browser and wanted it all under one folder in Konqueror as local file browser.
At some URLs I saved what the URL pointed to. At other URLs I wanted to save just the URL and not what the URL points to but such that what the URL points to is shown when clicked on.
The latter can AFAIK only be done by using MB3 "Create New"->"File"->"Link to Location (URL)..." in Konqueror as local file browser and manually filling in the popup - by typing and/or cut-n-paste. The result in a file of type "desktop" that when clicked on shows what the URL points to. Similar to a bookmark.
Great. However, the operation could be easier.

To make it easier I wish for the "Save As" popup in Konqueror as remote file browser to also allow save as URL as an option under "Filter" in the popup.

My info folder might for example then list the following collection

aaa.htm
bbb.pdf
ccc.jpg
ddd.mpg
eee.desktop

where eee.desktop is the equivalent of a bookmark.

Sorry - forgot to classify as wishlist rather than bug - don't know how to change that.

link of urls can easily be created with drag and drop. Do you still need something for creating link to URLs?
