Description Rafael Rodriguez 2004-07-19 15:22:07 UTC
Version: 1.0-beta5 "Pierre" (using KDE 3.2.3, (testing/unstable))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040422)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.7-ck5

That's it, i'd like to be able to import my knewsticker feeds (so i don't have to add every one again to akregator!)
Comment 1 Teemu Rytilahti 2004-08-23 19:44:57 UTC
I'm currently working on support for KNewsSticker import. I think it won't get into beta6, but hopefully for beta7.
Comment 2 Richard Bos 2004-08-30 20:23:54 UTC
Looking forward to see this implemented too.

imho this should not be just an import.

knewsticker, sidebar newsticker and akregator should all be integrated. by this i mean all three aps should share a librss/dcoprss backend (i believe this is partially implemented) and most important a combined rss archive repository. just as khtml etc has a shared cache, why shouldn't rss apps.

so when you select the feeds to be visible in the two applet applications these feeds are already available to/from akregator and vice-versa if a feed is added from either of the two applets then the feed is available to akregator

Bug #89307 also addresses this issue

Hi, FYI, I wrote a little script to transform KnewsTicker feed list to OPML/XML file. So you can import your precious feeds in Akregator.

what about a kicker applet for akregator which shows the recent news? maybe it could use dcop/dbus to get it from akregator...

KnewsTicker is no longer maintained and was never fully ported to KDE SC 4 so I am closing this wish.
Btw the proper way to implement this is to build an export function in the external widget/plasmoid not integrate it in akregator.
Thank you for reporting.
