Description Thom Lawrence 2004-07-13 11:32:08 UTC
Version: 2.2.1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I can easily open files from Windows shares with a dollar sign suffix and edit away happily, but Kate doesn't store the path in its recent file list correctly - it removes the dollar sign. This prevents me from reopening files from the 'Open Recent' menu, and also prevents Kate from properly restoring a session if it's closed with files from these shares open.

We are using the standard KRecentFilesAction, so I reassingn.

This works now in kate, but in the K-Menu/Recent Documents it is stored with one $ too much (e.g. smb://XXXX/C$$/Temp/file
Comment 4 Justin Zobel 2020-11-12 08:39:17 UTC
I've just tested this with kdelibs from git master and I cannot reproduce the issue.

Kate's recent files menu shows the single $ as expected.

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved. I'm setting status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.
