Description Mikhail Capone 2004-07-11 21:20:57 UTC
Version: 1.3.1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
OS: Linux

I think that it would be nice (and innovative) if KWord integrated with GPG (the way that KMail does, I guess) and allowed you to save and open encrypted files.

I guess that you'd have to configure it so that it uses your GPG key, and then a little "lock" icon could be put in the toolbar (like in Konqueror for the "security" icon) and you'd have a choice of saving your file inside an armored GPG archive.

OpenOffice/OASIS has its own way of encrypting documents, so I suppose that why KOffice should not support an incompatible way.

(The last try of having encrypted files (in a private format) for KOffice ended being unmaintained.)

Have a nice day!

PS.: Moving the bug to KOffice/General.

Nicolas,

Alright. I didn't know that. I'm closing this. Thanks for the input.
