Version: 1.3.1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.3) Installed from: Slackware Packages OS: Linux I think that it would be nice (and innovative) if KWord integrated with GPG (the way that KMail does, I guess) and allowed you to save and open encrypted files. I guess that you'd have to configure it so that it uses your GPG key, and then a little "lock" icon could be put in the toolbar (like in Konqueror for the "security" icon) and you'd have a choice of saving your file inside an armored GPG archive.
OpenOffice/OASIS has its own way of encrypting documents, so I suppose that why KOffice should not support an incompatible way. (The last try of having encrypted files (in a private format) for KOffice ended being unmaintained.) Have a nice day! PS.: Moving the bug to KOffice/General.
