Description Maciek Borowka 2004-06-28 14:43:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

The synchronization takes quite a long time with disconnected imap. I was thinking about a simple system
of tracing all the changes the user makes locally and synchronize only the folders that were touched by an action.

We could make it even better: if we added a checkbox "Don't check this folder for new mail" to every dimap folder, kmail wouldn't even touch some folders (in fact, the majority of folders in my case).

This functions would be really useful for "Archive" kind of folders, where you store the messages manually, but the server never delivers directly to them.

There has been a thread about it on kde-pim. You can check for example:

Sorry, but the dirty flag is useless because we still need to check the server in order to see whether something changed on the server.

The checkbox "Don't check this folder for new mail" is covered by wish #85227.
