Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Using cvs-head from 2004-06-27, so I guess that corresponds to 3.3 alpha. Whenever I start a session, no windows show up in either the taskbar applet or the pager applet. The only way I can get things to show is to reload the applets by causing a kicker re-start.. usually by changing one of the task bar preferences. Whenever I do that, the currently open windows get shown in the task bar. However, as I open new windows, they do not get added. Whatever is supposed to notify the taskbar and pager of new windows doesn't seem to be working.. I'm not sure if this is really a taskbar/pager problem or maybe something to do with the window manager..
(KDE3.3, SuSE 9.1, SUSE rpm's) I do have a similar (maybe the same) problem with the taskbar applet. Sometimes (not always) when I middle-click a link in konqueror to open a webpage in a new window, this window will not be listed in taskbar. I can only access the new window by using Alt-Tab. I can't reproduce it.
With the latest version of the Suse rpm`s ( from apt ) all seems fine now. So am taking my votes off, all kudos to the devs for fixing this bug, cheers guys.
Yeah, I get this too. I also have other issues with KDE 3.3 (desktop icons, etc) so I downgraded back to KDE 3.2 and this bug still exists! I can get the pager and taskbar to work by remove and re-add the applets. Another interesting point: this also affects the systray, which I can get to work sometimes by remove/re-add but not always. Doesn't seem to return once you restart the applets. Did the kernel upgrade at the same time, so I'm not sure if it's a kernel or KDE bug. SYS: Dell Inspiron/NVidia (1920x1200)/SuSE 9.1/KRN 2.6.5 upg from 2.6.3
saw this issue, but it appears to be fixed. if anyone is having this problem 3.3.1 or above, please let me know and i'll re-open.
