Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Other I think the usefullness of a "Full CD" map where one can copy an mp3 of the full cd isn't very usefull without a cuesheet. A cuesheet can be used by a cd burning application to reconstruct the audio cd, realy cutting the mp3 back in its original tracks. I can supply an example of such a cuesheet if necessary.
Is there a standard format for these?
As far as I know, it's a fairly standard procedure, though I haven't been able to find a real standardisation document about this. There are alot of tools that enable you to create these cuesheets (easy cd creator disk-at-once, EAC,..) and can afterwards be used to burn the one-track-music file to disk, or add it to a mediaplayer, or something else. The only document I found that attempts to describe this format is http://www.tech-forums.net/computer/topic/988.html . I'll do some more searching later and if I found a clear standard doc, I'll followup..
Were you able to find any more specs?
What cd buring apps use it that I could test against?
Nero burning rom for one can burn those cuesheets (note that it took a few minutes to load the cuesheet). I also tried cdrwin, but cdrwin can't handle mp3 files. Furthermore, most of the cuesheets i've come across appear to be made using this utility : http://www.exactaudiocopy.de (alas, no linux version). Hope this helps!
Note- k3b seems to understand cue sheet files so looking at it's source should provide a link to a doc to follow
