Description Wolfgang Kurz 2004-06-18 14:58:55 UTC
Version: 0.44 (using KDE 3.2.1, SuSE)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.75-default

Hi,
the selection (Auswahl) frame shows wrong width and height when non 72 dpi screens are used.
It seems that the calculation of width and height in Millimeter is based on the asumption, that all screens have a resolution of 72 dpi.
This is no longer valid when using LCD screens. There are a lot of screens which feature a 96 dpi resolution.
So please get the display resolution to calculate the width and height of the selection area.
You may also provide the selected image size in inch or pixels (which is shown at the bottom of the window)

Thanks
Wolfgang

Is this still the case in KDE 3.5?
I'm running a nonstandard resolution of 1200x900 on my 19" CRT (that's 84 dpi) and the computation seems to be quite exact (measured height of an A4 sheet: 295mm).

Cannot reproduce this problem or find any link to screen resolution. However, I have fixed another possibly bug where the preview size was calculated wrongly if the scanner bed length is not A4 (part of commit 768538). If you can compile from SVN, please check out and try the work version at branches/work/kooka-kde3 and see if the original problem is fixed.

Maintained, but no further information provided. Marking WORKSFORME for the record.

Yeah I haven't seen the component, I believed the bugreport was against KDE 3.x
