Version: 1.4.1 (using KDE 3.2.1, SuSE) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.4-54.5-default With my Sony DVD+-drive KsCD looks like it is playing, there is no sound. My Second drive is a DVD-ROM and KsCD does not even attempt to play the Same CD on this drive. The CD is a SPATEN Oktoverfest 2003 music CD. Under windows it plays perfectly with any player.. SO I know that the hardware is working as it should.
Maybe a litle cable is missing on your machine. It goes directly from cd-rom drive to the sound card. Windows use a "numerical" way to read CD in those case. You can do the same using XMMS, kaffeine or other player. If you have kaffeine installed on your machine, try : kaffeine CD -p It should work. You also can try to open audiocd:/ in konqueror
