Description Oded Arbel 2004-06-09 15:47:30 UTC
Version:           0.8.0 (using KDE 3.2 BRANCH >= 20040204, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 (Mandrake Linux 10.0 3.3.2-6mdk)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.3-7mdk

For example, I have on my list the same person in both MSN and ICQ, and she's using the same nick on both protocols. it would be great if whenever I use kopete to fetch the lists from my server (because I've just run it the first time on the current computer - which happens quite a lot recently), it will understand that both contacts belong to the same person and automaticly merge them into the same meta-contact.

I also use SIM (http://sim-icq.sf.net) which does this and I'm very happy with that behavior, because I have many contacts with identities in more then one protocol. SIM is actually a bit more intelligent and can also figure it out if the identities do not have the exact same name, such as "David F." and "David Fan". I'm not sure how it does it - it might not be related to the nick/screen name at all.
