Description Martin Koller 2004-06-09 09:30:18 UTC
Version:           1.6.52 (using KDE 3.2.90 (3.3 alpha1, CVS >= 20040522), compiled sources)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.2.3
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.22

Using kmail from KDE-3.2 signing was no problem until now (using openPGP).
With kmail from CVS, I now get the error message:

This message could not be signed, since the chosen backend does not seem to support signing; this should actually never happen, please report this bug.

Note: my key has unlimited expire date

In the security & privacy settings/Crypto Backends, I see the last option (OpenPGP(kpgp/gpg1) is checked.

What information shall I provide further to track down this problem ?

I close as the duplicated of 83086 (altough you were the first reporter) as that one contains a detailed discussion about the problem.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 83086 ***

See bug 85009 for how to do it with the gpgme backend.

I'm not sure what's the status with the kgpg backend.
