Description Raga Prong 2004-05-18 22:39:23 UTC
Version: 3.2.2 (using KDE 3.2.2, (testing/unstable))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040401)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.22-xfs

Meanwhile I learned to deal with the "find" command, but still I appreciate the easy to use Filesearch of Konqueror (I put it to shortcut F3), and I'd vote for these improvements:

1.) Especially when searching many files for content, this lasts quite long (naturally). A status bar would be great - even though quite unprecise. Alternatively a statusbar like "now searching /mnt/hdd2/data/txt/..." should be feasable :)

2.) When I click onto a folder in the search results, it opens by default in the same window thus overwriting the search result window. A plain "back" click won't even lead me to the search window - not to talk about the results! This is very sad, esp. if you had been searching for half an hour before that. Either the results should be cached and redisplayed after pressing the back button, or by default all files and folders should open in a new window when you are in the search list...

I hope, my desiderata are undertood, as English is not my native tongue.

thanks a million
regards
Raga.

The second problem has probably the same origin as the problems mentioned in Bug 78839 (or its duplicate Bug 74737).
