Description Andreas 2004-05-17 17:40:37 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

changing from the win32 world i'm searching for a substitute for total commander ( www.ghisler.com ) which is a 2-pane file manager. it supports to show files in a directory with differrent colors dependend on which extension the file has. for example all *.zip, *.tar, *.gz *.rar and so on are shown with a blue font color, while all file with *.mp3, *.mp2 have a orange filename. with this feature you can easily difference between the various kinds of files.

i hope i havent overseen any similar bug report and you will maybe implement this feature, cause i think konqueror is the application coming nearest to total commander :)

This is really a good idea and would be a nice feature too.

I think the right place for that is the application options where you can set the helper-app for some filetype.

Krusader is the most similar software like total commander. I think this wish is more appropriate for it.

It's been discussed many times

Leaving this as TODO item.
