Version: 1.1 (using KDE 3.2.2, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040217 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3, propolice-3.3-7) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-gentoo After the ball is dropped out of hazard and this place is near hole, it is immediatelly placed into that hole but Kolf then hangs up and stops responding.
i had this problem with hole 11 of usa pro. You can still hear the sound effect, but then the program hangs up.
I also had this problem, same course (USA Pro), same hole (11). The ball fell into water and when I selected to place the ball near the hazard, it fell into the hole. I heard the sound of the ball falling into, and the program hanged.
I had the same problem on KDE 3.5.7 (can't remember which hole), by the way this takes 100% CPU time.
The ball is now placed next to the hole. No freezing, no CPU overload, ... -> Case closed.
In 1.9 (KDE 4.4.2), I should add.

Kolf 20.12.0 on Mageia 8 Plasma. bug 187049. This problem reappears in this edition. The hanging even happens when the two balls are in close range, they do not need to touch.
Does not occur anymore in version 23 on Mageia 9 Plasma
