As a contact's history grows larger, Kopete slows down. At around 300k of saved history, it takes ~1 second after sending a message for the chat window to update.

At the beginning of a new month, a new logfile is used, and the speed returns to normal until the history grows again.

Perhaps contact history should be saved on a per-day, or per-chat-session basis instead of monthly.
