Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc-3.3.3 OS: Linux I noticed today that the krfb settings aren't being saved. I had uninvited connections enabled and I went to disable it. I closed the configuration app and when I opened it again all my old settings were back. I deleted ~/.kde/share/config/krfb* and tried again but now it's stuck at the default options.
It occurs the same to me, and I have realized that the problem is when I close the krfb window. If I change the krfb options and open the .kde/share/config/krfbrc file, I see this file changed with my new options, but when I close the krfb window and open again the krfbrc file, my changes have dissapeard. So at the moment the only solution is to edit manually the krfbrc file, but how to set the password?
I am having problems with kfrb saving my configuration options as well - it completely ignores everything I select in configuration. I have manually edited the krfbrc file and it has respected that, but I cannot get anything to stick when changing it through the GUI.
Sorry, I should say that I'm using KDE 3.3.1.
I got the configuration changes to stick by opening the krfbrc file, setting options, then closing it. Then to get the password to stick, I opened krfb, set the password... don't close the config window... ...open the kfrbrc file in vim. You'll see that it saved your changes. It's when you close out of the kfrb window completely when your changes are lost. So, copy the krfbrc file somewhere else or keep it open in vim before closing the window. That way you can save the hashed password.
