Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources I know that Knotes has a great DCOP interface, but it seems to me that it would be useful to have a generic KNotes library (maybe in KDELibs?) that allows for creation/storage/retrieval/etc of notes. This would then allow other applications to be able to place "Sticky notes" within their application. For example, a KWord document could have notes on what needed to be fixed (these notes would not be embedded into the document, they would be called up only on the machine where you have both the note and the document) or you could assign notes to different web pages to document any thoughts or ideas you may have had while researching the page...(it could really help internet-based research) It just seems to me that noting functionality could be something very useful for many different applications, and it would be nice to have a standard library to do this. Another useful thing would be the ability to place notes within a "domain" (for organization sake) where all related notes reside physically within the same directory - for easy indexing and retrieval.
KNotes is no longer maintained since 24.08. Please migrate to Marknote. https://apps.kde.org/marknote/ See https://invent.kde.org/sysadmin/release-tools/-/merge_requests/53
