Description Pupeno 2004-04-14 13:22:22 UTC
Version: 0.8.2 (using KDE 3.2.2-0.20040407.1ark, Ark Linux - H2O)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Ark Linux 1.0 3.3.3-1ark)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.26-0.rc2.1ark

After installing KDE and Kopete for someone that was intrested only in communication and that have never used a computer before I noticed something perticular. She couldn't understand very well the term 'on line'. This was all done in spanish, so I'm really talkin about the term 'en linea'. I think the term 'presente' ('present') would be accurate and much more easy to understand (in fact, it would be more accurate, since an away state is also on-line state).
I don't know how applicable is this for english, I think the case should be studied to make Kopete more user friendly.
Thanks.

Pidgin use the term "Disponible (available)", which is easy to understand for spanish people. "Presente" is less accurate.

Regarding my last comment. You may be online or present but not available. But being available requires that you must be online. So "Dispoible" is more exact than present for the online status.

OK, let's see what Spanish translators think about it.
