Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) It is currently fairly hard to find at what KDE version the bug marked as fixed has been fixed. Would be really nice if such note were present, currently it is often unclear whether I should reopen some bug, get 'one-point newer then I currently use' release, wait for the fix for some next release... I think that such issue is to be changed organizationally. Probably the best way would be to add notes like 'fix present in KDE 3.2.2 distribution' while new distro release notes are written into all bugs mentioned in those notes (of course some kind of automated script would be great for this task, the bug could be CLOSEd at the same time). Worse (but still worth doing) - developer fixing the bug could add a note like 'fix awaiting for the next KDE release after 3.2.1' (he or she does not know what will be the next release number but he or she knows at least which release escaped the fix).
Bugs are fixed in the developer version (CVS HEAD) and mostly only there. (So they will be in KDE 3.3 but not in any KDE 3.2.x.) Have a nice day!
Maybe I was unclear, once more the scenario: - I use some stable KDE distribution - I find - for instance - that my kmail does something incorrectly, - I start reporting it on bugs.kde.org - I find that the bug entry for the same bug already exist and is marked FIXED - I do not know whether I should reopen that bug or not and if not, to which KDE version must I upgrade to have it fixed The bare mention like 'fixed in KDE 3.2.2' would solve it.
Since the release/tagging dates are known, most of the time this information can be extracted from the date that the bug was resolved at. I agree that it would be nice and helpful for users to see it in the bug report itself.
Extending this wish report a bit: some kind of special field containing the KDE SC (or ap) version in which the bug was fixed would be useful for DrKonqi to tell the user in case of a duplicate. I don't know if such new field should be tied to some concept like "target milestones" (which currently exists on some products) or be a "free"(no restrictions) text field in which the devs can write something like "KDE SC 4.4.2", "Amarok 2.2.3" or "Next release" Regards
And according to http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-promo&m=125988699703514&w=2 this option would also be useful to generate release changelogs
There is a freeform 'Version Fixed In' field now.
