Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux When I minimize all windows using Ctrl+Alt+D (or via Show Desktop panel button), and launch an application by clicking a desktop icon, the Kwin reverses the effect of Ctrl+Alt+D and then puts the latest application on top of all other windows. This is counter-intuitive. The purpose of Ctrl+Alt+D is to get all windows out of the way so the user can find something on the desktop. By restoring the other applications, Kwin disobeys the user. I hadn't noticed this behavior in KDE 3.1, if it was introduced newly, then please consider removing it.
I solved the problem by setting the Focus stealing prevention level to Normal (in Window Behavior/Advanced settings). Perhaps this should be the default setting instead of Low.
Actually, I didn't solve the problem. I launched GNU Emacs which behaves as I wanted it to. Other(KDE) applications continue to exhibit the problem behavior. It needs to be fixed after all.
