Description Tim Wright 2004-03-17 20:53:25 UTC
Version: 1.6 (using KDE 3.2.0, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 (NetBSD nb1 20031026)
OS: NetBSD (i386) release 1.6ZH

When I right click on an email address KMail gives me the option to add to addressbook. That's really handy, but I'd often like to add the email address to an existing contact (my friends change email addresses often).

Kmail could pop up a list of contacts and let me select which one, then ask me whether to overwrite the old one, add a new one, and of so, make the new one the default email address.

Tim.

I would also like this feature as it is great for usability. I have pictures for some of my contacts and have kmail set to show me the person's photo when I get an email from them. Showing the kopete online status is also useful. When a person I know sends me an email from a different email address (which happens often, e.g. gmail, hotmail, work address, home address), the photo/status doesn't appear.

To add an email address to an existing contact, I have to select it, copy it, goto the address book, find the contact, open the contact editor, click to edit email addresses and paste it in. This is obviously terrible from a usability stand point and casual users would just give up because it's too involving. It is also very labourious and would love to have a shortcut for this.

From the useability point of view this list can quickly become very unuseable in size.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
