Version: 0.8.0 (using KDE 3.2.0, (3.0)) Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.25-i386-cdf-workstation When sending a message to a Jabber contact, I would like to be able to easily pick the resource for the contacts that are logged in from more than one connection. For instance, if a contact bob@jabber.org was connected from both home and from work, I would like to be able to see in the contact list the foolowing two resources (of course, the list of resources should be easy to collapse): - Bob |- home |- work Then, to send a message to bob@jabber.org/home I would simply click on the "home" resource above, and likewise for bob@jabber.org/work. The current method of choosing the profile is not very convenient, because (1) I need to memorize which of the profiles has been chosen previously (maybe a few days ago), and (2) it takes one right click and four drags to change a resource. Many thanks in advance!
You can choose the resource either in the contact list or from the chatwindow's member list by right-clicking on the contact and then selecting "Select Resource".
Sorry, misunderstood you. Reopening. Not sure if this can be done, it definitely depends on support from libkopete - currently no subitems to a contact are allowed.
IMO "subcontact" is a preferred way to display multiple jabber resources for a contact. One other way would be, perhaps, to display a separate contact for each of the connected resources. So, in my example, this would mean that there will be two online users in my contact list: bob@jabber.org/home and bob@jabber.org/work. If this were easier to implement, I would settle for this. ;^) My main concern is that it should be easier to send a message to a particular contact/resource combination.
what about a ComboBox in a message window that list the Ressources with their priority ?
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
