Description Gerard Seibert 2004-03-07 20:19:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: FreeBSD Ports
OS: FreeBSD

Using FreeBSD 5.2.1 and KDE 3.2.

I used the Kuser utility to make some changes in my accounts. Everything seemed to go along OK. I signed out of KDE and shutdown my system. Upon rebooting of the system, I received the following error message:

pam_acct_mgmt(1): user account has expired

I was eventually able to log in as a single user, however I have not been totally able to fix the problem. Even the root account has expired. Apparently Kuser is messing up the /etc/master.passwd file. It has been reported by at least on other individual that he discovered that at the end of one user's entry for shell, which was /bin/sh, there was "swd 91%" appended to the end.

This version of KDE was installed from the FreeBSD Ports collection.

Can some BSD folks tell me that is this bug still exists?

I believe this was fixed with
http://webcvs.kde.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/kdeadmin/kuser/kuser.cpp.diff?r1=1.63;r2=1.64

Maybe the submitter can confirm?
