Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux The KMail search field names should be made translatable in kdepim/kmail/kmsearchpatternedit.cpp The field names are listed in the initLists method: "Subject", "From", "To",... However, it seems that there are references to these names in the code, so you can't simply i18n() them.
Those are standard email header specifiers and they were not intented to be translated. I agree that translating them would be nice. But that's a wish and no bug.
OK, but searching is a very important feature, and you just can't expect non-English speakers to know what "Subject" is. It's more like an i18n bug than a wish. The most important strings are translated now - but still not all. I think this should be changed for all people out there, that don't read english.
Sill valid ?
wait for infos
Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
I guess, this bug must not be valid in KMail2 anymore, because searching in e-mail messages now relies on Nepomuk.
All translatable fields are translated (subject, body, reply to...). Remaining fields are technical ones (List-Id, X-Loop, X-Mailing-List...). Not sure that it needs translation.
for ""List-Id, X-Loop, X-Mailing-List" it's not necessary to translate it
