Description Daniel Tourde 2004-03-04 21:00:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-3.2.3 20030422 (Gentoo Linux 1.4 3.2.3-r3, propolice) -march=pentium2 -O3 -pipe
OS: Linux

I am running KDE 3.2. I need to connect a Windows SMB server. The server is well configured. I have also Samba on the system and so far I see no problems with it.I use "Configure - Local Network Browsing / Windows shares" to setup my default profile (default user name, default password and workgroup) for the samba clients. I noticed however that the password is neither used nor remembered when I, for instance, try to browse my directories with konqueror on the SMB Windows server. I MUST every time I click on a subdirectory give my passwd (the one I had supposedly specified in the "Configure - Local Network Browsing / Windows shares" menu

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup a samba client profile in "Configure - Local Network Browsing / Windows shares"
2. Connect to a SMB server with konqueror
3. Browse in your directories on the SMB server

Actual Results: Enjoy the great pleasure of specifying your passwd again and again and again while browsing in your subdirectories on the server...

Expected Results: A "password free" browsing (or to be more precise, the password should be taken from the Local Network Browsing / Windows shares profile
