Version: 1.6.1 (using KDE 3.2 BRANCH >= 20040204, (testing/unstable)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040214 (prerelease) (Debian) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-bf2.4 It would be nice if I could mark some folders so that they never show messages as unread. Now if I move 100 spams to trash, the "thrash" folder shows 100 unread messages. Similarly if I read a message in inbox and then move it to some archive folder. There is no need to show them as unread. The thrash folder and other folders which include already read messages is also seen in kroupware main window as unread, which is annoying. Another possibility is not to show as unread those messages which are moved by kmail, maybe by marking them as read immediately after moving.
...and I just noticed that kmail does almost that. Stupid me didn't remember that I have moved all messages from a spam folder to thrash without actually reading them. But the thrash folder could still be handled specially so that it would not show up with unread messages.
And now I remember another reason why this has bothered me. Sometimes I use another program to send mail (pine via ssh) and it stores the mail in a sent-mail folder, which I then later open with kmail via imap. Then kmail shows that message as unread though I really have seen it already. So it is another place where not showing unread or even autoreading could be useful.
At least in 3.3 it is possible to unmark "Include in check" and/or mark "Ignore new mail in this folder" from folder properties. It does what I want. I mark this as resolved.
