Description Pierre Habouzit 2004-02-19 12:32:19 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I send daily mails to two domains that are equivalent (call them very-long-domain.org and vld.org). I mean by "equivalent" that foo.bar@very-long-domain.org et foo.bar@vld.org are strictly the same.
moreover, each user use randomly his @vld.org / @very-long-domain.org address.

My problem is that there is mailing-lists on this domain, and that when i use a 'reply-to-all' on a mailing list, i can send the mail twice to the ML. I'll give an example :

I have a kmail folder named "support" that manage the mailing-list support@very-long-domain.org, in wich users are asking for help. So when a user that is in the ML sends a mail, no problem, i use the kmail 'reply-to-list' and all goes fine.

But if a user sends a mail to support@vld.org and that he isn't in the mailing list, i use a 'reply-to-all' so that he get the mail too. but kmail (and it's oubviously smart) adds the mailing list that the directory manages to the Cc:, and then I have an email with :
To: guy_that_asked@vld.org
Cc: support@vld.org, supporte@very-long-domain.org

and thats pretty stupid :/

A solution would be to replace the property "the directory holds a ML" by two properties :
-> a regexp that recognize all 'names' of the ML
-> the name of the ML to use and add to 'Cc:' if no names of the ML has been detected by the previous regexp in the already present Headers.

Moreover, it would be neat if the 'reply to list' shortcut search in the mail headers if he recognize the ML somewhere, and use it. Using the default ML name must be used iff the ML was not detected.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
