Description ironfroggy 2004-02-13 02:10:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

There should be an option for the Universal Sidebar to embed an application (either opening it or to embed an already open window. This doesnt have to be a real embedding, just display the window in a tab on the sidebar, with no window controls or anything. specifically, this would be nice for people who want to dock their IM programs, or perhaps a terminal, to watch output of something.

I think a general solution is difficult to get right, for instant messaging there is a plugin on kde-apps.org (universal kopete) Perhaps something like that, or a real kopete sidebar extension (not embedding, but creating the widget directly in the sidebar) could be added to kopete as a replacment/extension to the systray icon.
