Can no cvs-checkout make unfortunately thanks to our firewalls, you have one link of a tarball?

this happens, when connecting to the mailserver via imap, can I debug this ?
Does deleting the cache for this IMAP account help? The data is cached in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap in a hidden directory which corresponds to the name of your account. For example: If your account is named "IMAP" then the data is cached in .IMAP.directory.
no, this doesn't help. the file in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap is -rw------- 1 frankn psi 0 2004-02-17 17:15 genie
There should also be a directory .genie.directory and a few index files .genie.index* in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap.

I was experiencing the same issue. I went into the imap folder at .kde/share/apps/kmail/imap and removed (relocated) all of the hidden files and directories for both imap servers I had configured. Restarted kmail and resubscribed to my remote folders. Everything seems to be working now. No crashes (yet).
