Description silvan 2004-01-28 17:07:07 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: Unspecified Linux
OS: Linux

I'm making a website with HTML layers menu made with PHPLayersMenu plus a flash movie beside the menu. The problem is that layers are displayed behind the flash movie, as you can see by following this link:

http://www.qilinux.it/~silvan/qinet/

Flash 6 supports HTML on Flash, and you can find more information here:

http://flash-mx.html.it/articoli/view_articolo.asp?idarticolo=31

Sorry, this is an Italian site, anyway you can find the needed code after the title ".html su flash".

Thanks for your time.

Cheers,
	Silvan Calarco

I'm afraid there are limits what you stack. And flash movies are _very_ special here. You better find a better layout for your web page. (it neither works in opera nor mozilla)

Rendering http://www.msnbc.com has the same problem. It's a pretty big site to ignore. Also, it works in Mozilla Firefox 0.8, albeit by magically hiding all Flash.

Same with many sites in Holland, including www.ah.nl.
This really should be fixed somehow imho. Even hiding the flash like Firefox would be ok. Hiding the menu's makes some sites not navigatable.

This also seems to happen with iframes in other frames, so it's not only with Flash. See the popups in the left sidebar on http://www.unive.nl/ .

Is there a reason this bug won't be fixed? Apparently a fix is coming in Mozilla for Linux (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137189).
