Description Reivec Saltari 2004-01-19 01:30:11 UTC
Version: 3.1.94-0.4 Red Hat (using KDE KDE 3.1.94)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

When using smb:/ to browse the network with konq I noticed 2 problems. When I entered a workgroup knoq stopped repecting my file managment view setting. I use mulicolumn and it would go back to list view every time. Also when I clicked on a computer name, and then hit the back button, it would go back all the way outside the workgroup and show all the workgroups again. You would expect it to just go out of that comp name and back to the workgroup you were previously in.

To narrow it down I downloaded an old Knoppix 3.2 from 05/20/03, it contains KDE 3.1.2 according to the Knoppix' changelog.

In KDE 3.1.2 the smb-kioslave did respect custom file view settings, since KDE 3.2 Beta it does not (it still exists in 3.3.1).

The problem of not respecting custom file view settings stills exists in KDE 3.4.1, and it isn't a problem of the smb-kioslave only, it doesn't work with the media-kioslave also.

This works for me. If it is still an issue please reopen the bug.
