Description Mathieu Jobin 2004-01-17 19:06:13 UTC
Version: 1.5.94 (using KDE 3.1.94 (CVS >= 20031206), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-0.13mdk

it is nice that we are now able to name our search and look at them later on.

but, a cleanup may become necessary and I can't find a way to delete them.

I did not try RMB->DeleteFolder, since its not a folder, and i was not sure of what would happen.

RMB on a search should give "Remove Search"

thanks.

it's a virtual folder and so deleting the folder works. ;)
Comment 2 Thomas Reitelbach 2004-01-17 20:46:30 UTC
... and deleting mails in such folder deletes the REAL mail (AFAIK). so how can someone know?
Comment 3 Mathieu Jobin 2004-01-17 20:51:42 UTC
should be named differently,...

deleting folders means to me, I'll lose all my messages.

and yes, delete mail inside a search delete the mail. AFAIK,...

also, an extra column should be on the search folder which tell which real folder the mail is on.

Severity changed to wishlist.

I'm not sure if renaming 'Remove Folder' to 'Remove Search' would clarify the situation.

Don.

KMail doesn't delete folders without asking for confirmation. And if you try to delete a search folder then KMail explicitely tells you that the messages are _not_ deleted. But I have no objection against changing the name of the action to "Remove Search".

what about editing a search.
his name, his parameters.
would like to see which request is giving me that search result. and maybe modifying it.

those saved search are a great idea, and lot of function could be added to them.
like, making a copy of all the message found by the search into another folder.
well, its probably already possible through DND, right?

You can do anything with the messages in a search folder that you can also do with the messages in a regular folder including moving/copying the messages to other folders.

And to edit the parameters of a search folder simply search in the search folder. (yes, it's not very intuitive).

as you said, not very intuitive.
but good to know....

RMB -> Edit Search

would be more appropriate.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
