Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources The ICQ plugin now supports reception of type-2 messages since some ICQ clients (Miranda, Sim) only send type-2 messages, even when the clients do not advertise support (this behavior was corrected in Miranda, however). Thus Kopete should advertise support for type-2 messages, so that clients supporting both types (i.e. official ICQ - not lite), will send messages using type-2, which awaits an acknowledgement for each message sent. Kopete should also detect clients advertising type-2 support, and send type-2 messages when communicating with those clients.
yup, and IIRC the problem would be sending them, but I'll look into that a bit more.
Changing title because we advertise type-2 support for quite some time now (and we're able to receive messages that way of course, including rtf).
so then isn't it a duplicate of #53016? or are there type-2 msgs that are not RTF messages?

Closing this as it's most likely not correct anymore because all official clients sends channel 2 messages and AIM/ICQ in Kopete now supports RTF too.
