Description Rob Blomquist 2004-01-06 05:08:57 UTC
Version: 3.1.1 (using KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (Mandrake Linux 9.2 3.3.1-2mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.22-21mdk

I would love to have the ability to turn off all the alarms all the time. I sync my Visor using KPilot to home, and using Outlook (yes I have to) and the Handspring tool at work. but I really don't need to be reminded for every work appointment when I am at home.

I understand that I could shut down the KDE Alarm Daemon, but that would interfere with Kalarm, which I use.

The alarm notification doesn't even use the alarm daemon any more. But KOrganizer's system tray applet has a menu item "Alarms Enabled". Just make sure it is not checked, and you won't be bothered with any alarms.

Cheers,
Reinhold

Not for me. I am talking about turning off all alarms that originate on another computer. I sync my Handspring Visor Edge to Outlook at work, and to KOrg at home, and would like to be able to turn off the alarms that originate at work when I am home. And vice-versa, if Microsoft ever listens.

No, I don't want to turn off all alarms in KDE (what the above would do), but just the ones that originate elsewhere.

And this really is a WishList item, not a real bug.

Hi Rob,
There is absolutely no information about where an event was created. What you want is some kind of filter to ignore alarms for all events that match a given filter. Of course, you then also need to assign a special category or something similar to all work assignments...

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

No worries. I'm simply moving these from the korgac product to korganizer::reminder . sorry for the noise but I want to have all the reminder bugs located in the same place.

I believe this wish has been granted.
In the sidebar Calendar Manager, right-click the calendar,
and select "Folder Properties...". On the dialog's General tab,
check off "Block reminders locally". You will have to
arrange to put work and home events in different calendars.

Does this meet your needs?
