Version: unknown (using KDE 3.1.94 (3.2 Beta 2), Arch Linux) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.23 if you lock the screen (or simply screensaver is activated) and the user left the machine, root must be able to unlock the screen and shut down X the nice way (else you loose the session of the user and do somehting dangerous with X --- by killing it) i do not use kdm ... maybe there is such an option (because kdm is run as root the normal way) ... but this thing should be also available on a normal kde-session
