Version: ismeretlen (using KDE 3.1.4) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-144-default MOTIVATION: People change work, change ISP or do not use ther email address at a freemail provider - the result is that their email address changes. There are people who I write only once a year, not more often, and I sometimes forget to put their addresses into the address book. So when the address book is in my mind, I simply take all the addresses that are there - in this situation it would be very difficult to check which ones are obsolete, and which are the working ones. So instead of deleting and later re-entering outdated email addresses I want to mark them unusable. WISH: When I receive an error mail, and an address turns out to be non functional any more I would like to have the feature, that cliking on the email address in addition to the existing feature "add to the address book" I could select "MARK ADDRESS AS OUTDATED/UNUSABLE".

And how about removing the address from the address book instead instead of keeping it?
No because the mails with old address still exist in maildatabase, having the address still in the addressbook keeps the address connected with picture, Im-status etc. and also would allow it to correct it if you reply to it. Would also help if someone has multiple address and you only want to use one for answering. In that case you could check [x]do not use for answer in the addressbook and the standardemailaddress would be used instead.
Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
Still applies to kmail2, but actually more to kaddressbook.
Okey, let kdepim developers decide, if this is for kadressbook or kmail2 (which indeed no longer has an "addressbook" component in the bug tracker).
Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
