Version: 1.5.94 (using KDE 3.1.94 (3.2 Beta 2), compiled sources) Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.2 2.96-112.7.2) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.22 In KDE-3.1.4 I was used to kmails behaviour when I create a new mail to have the input focus in the To: field. This has now changed to have the focus in the subject field. Please can you revert to the previous behaviour, as it was - from a usability standpoint - easier to use: Enter the To: address press Tab twice (or thrice), enter the subject, press Tab, enter Text ... Ah - I have seen, that this is only the case for "New Message to Mailing list" - that means, it has changed only there, which is also inconsistent.
This was changed because in the case of "Reply to mailing list" the To is already entered. So you end up with focus in a field you usually don't want to change. Look ma, it's a feature. :)

I used to use only the "new massage to mailing list" toolbutton, because then I did not need to think about which button to click to create a new message. When I had a mailing-list folder selected, it was clear that I wanted to send a message to the list. If I was in another folder, I created a new message without the To: address. So both worked as I liked - but no more... Can you change it in the way, that if I select "new message to mailing list", but the current selected folder has no "folder holds mailing-list" attribute (that means, the new message window has no To: address in it), that _then_ the focus is in the To: field ?
Since I also exclusively use the New Message to Mailing-list button I'll change this as M. proposed.
Hello? Focus is still in the Subject: field as of KDE 3.2.1. I guess it's not too hard to fix, so it should be done asap (and be backported to KDE 3.2.2, please).
