Description Luke-Jr 2003-12-01 00:57:15 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.94)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

After crashes, I often have a blank message in my outbox consisting only of:
--- Begin Message ---
Status: RO
X-Status: RQ
X-KMail-EncryptionState: N
X-KMail-SignatureState: N
X-KMail-MDN-Sent:
--- End Message ---

This prevents KMail from sending emails and since there is no intrusive message displayed with an error, I often don't notice for days that my mail isn't being sent.

Are you talking about a KMail crash or a system crash?

We would rather fix the crash instead. KMail isn't really at fault if you have corrupted mailboxes, but it is if it is guilty of corrupting things.

A KMail/Kontact crash. I haven't confirmed that it isn't a problem with my system in general (it likes to randomly send SIGILL; yes, my compilation optimizations are sane), but it would be nice if didn't screw up the outbox when/if it did crash. Especially when it really has no reason to be accessing the mailbox when it crashes. Next crash, I'll try to remember to check the reason and report a bug about that if it isn't SIGILL.
