Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.1.93)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
Compiler:          gcc 3.2.3 
OS:          Linux

KDE 3.1.93 "Rudi":

While copying a 2.4GB file to an external hard drive, the progress bar jumped to 100% when the file was about 3/4 done transfering. The file size which had up to that point been displayed correctly also jumped to 16TB.

This has to be a 64-bit integer issue. 

You mention 3/4th of the file. Can you check, by any chance, it's the exact value of 2 GB that makes this happen?

Yes, I also assume it's a integer overflow issue. Yes it's happens at 2 GB.
