How about displaying spelling suggestions in the context menu of text area's? Then the user clicks on a suggestion, it should replace the misspelled word.

There is a "suggestions" submenu that suggest proper spelling in Konqueror in KDE 4.2. (Probably courtesy of Sonnet)

I'm running KDE 4.2 on Gentoo and when I saw this feature in Kopete I was ecstatic. Thanks for all the hard work guys, it's looking like KDE 4.2 is going to be fantastic.
