Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux I have autoraise enabled and when I switch desktops, the new window under the cursor on the new desktop raises. This is not desired behavior, at least for what I'm doing. For instance, I have a web browser (and several other windows) open with some instructions on desktop #2 and an xterm in desktop #1, and I'm trying to follow the instructions. If I've moved my cursor to the xterm in desktop #1, kwin may (depending on where the xterm and cursor is) raise a window and cover up my web browser (and thus my instructions) when I switch back to desktop #2. IMHO, autoraise should not be triggered when you switch desktops until you then move the mouse across the border of another window. So no matter where the cursor is when you switch desktops, nothing changes until you cross into another window. As I recall, this is how Enlightenment does it. I can't think of any scenario where this wouldn't be best, but nevertheless it could be made an option to turn on or off in the Control Center. Thanks much!
By the way, I'm running KDE CVS >= 20030907 from the http://opendoorsoftware.com/ cgi/http.pl?p=kdecvs Debian packages.
KWin older than 20030917 is discontinued and not supported (unless it's KDE3.1). But the bug exists also in current CVS.
Ok. My Help->About KDE shows Release 3.1.91 (CVS >= 20030907), but upon further inspection, the Debian packages I'm using say 20030917. I'm guessing perhaps the version string wasn't updated and the version on the packages is more accurate. Since the bug still exists, though, it doesn't matter, I guess.
Just verified that the bug is exhibited up to version 20031019.
Still exists in CVS 20040204. I get the feeling not many people use autoraise and/or autoraise+multiple desktops... ;-)
Problem still exists in KE 3.2.2 (debian packages). IMHO autoraise should not trigger after you switch desktops until you move your cursor across the border of a window.
