Version: 1.5.4 (using KDE 3.1.4) Installed from: SuSE Compiler: gcc version 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-tcn If reiserfs is as bad as everybody says and if reiserfs has serious data inconsistency problems reiser might be to be addressed this problem to. If often happens that after a crash (of KMail or the machine) when restarting KMail there are mails in my outbox which I already have sent and which are already stored in my IMAP's sent folder. I have no idea where KMail takes those mails from but they suddenly do show up in outbox again. So, sometimes those mails are automatically sent, sometimes it is required to click one mail in the outbox and sometimes clicking a mail turns its subject, receiver, body and everything into "unknown" (and the body to be empty, of course). This is very strange and probably is caused by some kind of data inconsistency.
If there was a crash, the outbox folder might be in inconsistent state, still having in it e-mails that were sent. If KMail is the one crashing, then there is a bug somewhere that we have to fix. If it's your machine that is crashing, there's nothing we can do. KMail tries as hard as it can to keep the files intact, but if still have suggestions, we're listening.
