Description LinuxBelgium.be 2003-09-26 16:27:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Konqueror doesn't use the current umask settings of the system. For example, when you change the umask in /etc/profile, it doesn't affect Konqueror. The permissions of a file created via Konqueror always have the same permissions, which are different from the umask.

Thanks!
:-)

I'm not sure /etc/profile is executed by the parent processes that end up
loading Konqueror. Let me go check...

Nope, you're right. Analysing the environments of the parent processes reveal
that variables set in /etc/profile show up, which means it's being run.
