Version: 2.2 (using KDE 3.1.9) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.0-test4 When trying to configure syntax highlighting in kate almost nothing works... a) If you change some settings for highlighting then the 'apply' button is not activated b) Sometimes if you change some other settings too and press apply, syntax highlighting changes for default style are applied (not all settings ). c) 'Highlight modes' are almost impossible to be changed thru the configuration dialog d) Whenever there is a change in the default style, the active highlight mode is changed too (the use default property)... This way you can change default values but the active style will be altered and not affected... e) Both of the background properties for syntax highlighting doesn't work.. I've installed kde 3.2-a1 on top of kde 3.1.3 but I've cleaned everything relative to kate (from $KDEDIR/share/apps, $KDEDIR/share/config, $KDEDIR/share/services, ~/.kde/share/apps, ~/.kde/share/config, $KDEDIR/lib, $KDEDIR/lib/kde3). ... also, when changing the default schema the apply button is not actived. <<V13>>

Still not working really, but now merged into the schema config page, will try to take care of the bugs if I find some solution ;)) (or if anders is not faster)
jesse patched that back to a state you can call "working" ;) let it be a wish to improve the config page
hl config works well enough, this wish is much too generic ;) hl dialog will improve in the future, if some specific wishs are around, please submit
I'm sorry, I see that this bug has been marked as fixed, but I don't see how it has been fixed reading the messages in this thread. I have had similar problems. In math mode of LaTex in Kile I set the background color. Now I cannot unset the background color, I can only change it to a different color. It wouldn't bother me that much, but now I can't see the highlighting indicating matching {} and () delimiters. I am using KDE version 3.4.0 level "b" and Kile version 1.7.1 on SuSE 9.3.
