Description Patrick Rutka 2003-09-07 12:21:30 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.1.2)

Research on metadata is a GREAT feature but is not usable! This part hava a lack of usuability. For ex : It's TOO hard to select the good document type (it's not about metada but ...):
	-> simplify these entries : create group : all video formats : (*.avi; *.mov; ...)
						 : all sound formats : (*.mpg; *.ogg; ...)
						 : all picture formats : (*.tiff; *.svg; ...)
		-> and organize by type of document and task oreiented:
			: Archivage
				-> compressed format
				     -----------------
				     all compressed format (*.tgz; *.zip; ...)
				     gzip format (*.gz)
				     ...
			  Multimedia
				 -> All multimedia format
				 -> Video format
				     ------------
				     ....
				 -> Audio format
				    ------------
				    ....

ui must reflected this organisation : like
File format :
[select domain : by defaut all, else (multimedia or underdomain like audio)]	[select filter : all of under/domain by defaut]

And the METADATA must be init by the filter for selection !!!!! (all : * if this is not a filter but a domain or underdomain)

ui :

Search in meta-data : [All by defaut or a list of possible metadatas (title, .., ??? translated in the user language ??? it's maybe a great reature ;-) )] contains [case sensitive : yes/no] [words separated by a ";" or anything else] (text : multiple words separated by ";")

have a list is important for no english speaker (like me, sorry for my english) because I am type "Titre" not "Title" ...
