Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources When you are in the KMail account config dialog under "Recieving", there is the section below where you can enable / disable system tray notifications for KMail, and enable / disable showing the number of unread messages. However, enabling this is a global application-wide setting. I would like to be able to configure this last option on a per account / folder basis. See, I have many accounts with many folders. But there is only one folder and account that I really care if it has new mail in it ( The "Inbox" folder of the main account ). Other folders are filtered server-side into spam, mailing lists, etc, and I don't really care if these get new messages, since they're constantly filling up. I expect many other people have simmilar setups for their email. It would be nice if functionality was added along the lines of "Default Identity" vs. "Folder Identity", so I could turn off notifications globally, but enable them for one folder only. Of course the new message # in the system tray would have to be changed to only be the sum of the unread messages in these folders.

There is currently a new feature in CVS where you can right click on a folder and "ignore new mail in this folder" for notifications. I am just wondering, does that affect the numeric in the system tray as well? Because if it does, then I can close this.
Fixed in 3.3 HEAD. New mail is only taken into account for not-ignored folders.
Could the notifications be further get refined, so that I can turn off notifications for example for a folder containing mailing lists globally, but get again notifications for replies to specific messages (e.g. postings by myself or questions where I'm also interested in the answer). We already have the "mark as important" flag, maybe that would be a starting point?
